A guide for young believers in a confused world
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, Today and forever. "
(Jews 13:8)
🌍 Live Faith in a changing world
We live in a frenetic era, where everything changes at the speed of light: technologies, idea, mode, values. Young people grow up under the pressure of social media, apparently, performance. In the midst of this chaos, Christian faith may seem out of place, as if it belonged to another era.
and yet, The message of Jesus is more current than ever. His word does not change. Its truth does not adapt to culture. Is eternal (Isaiah 40:8) and continues to transform lives, Today as in the first century.
1. The call is not an illusion: God chose you
“In him he elected us before the foundation of the world…”
(Ephesians 1:4)
No young man who believes in Christ is such by chance. The doctrine of the predestinazione, Dear to the reformed faith, teaches that God, in his sovereign grace, calls whoever wants to save. This does not make your faith less authentic, but more stable.
If you are attracted by Jesus, It is because the Father attracted you (Giovanni 6:44). This gives you identity, safety and an unwavering base.
2. Jesus is not a moralist: is the savior
“They are not the healthy who need the doctor, and in malati. I didn't come to call the righteous, But of sinners. "
(Marco 2:17)
Many young people abandon faith because they reduce it to a list of rules. But the heart of the Gospel is not the law: is the grace. Jesus did not come for the "good guys", but for sinners aware of their need.
Following Christ means recognizing that without him you are spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1), but that in him you have a new life, grace, by fede (Ephesians 2:8-9).
3. Follow Jesus It is not easy, But it is true freedom
“If anyone wants to come behind me, you deny yourself, Take his cross and follow me. "
(Matteo 16:24)
Christianity does not promise comfort, but truth. It does not offer applause, but sanctification.
and yet, Whoever follows Jesus discovers that this "cross" is a real way of freedom. Because only in him do you find a safe guide, a deep peace (Giovanni 14:27) and an eternal hope.
Calvino wrote:
“Our heart is a factory of idols; Only the spirit can destroy them. "
Following him means dying to sin every day, but live in fullness.
4. The Word of God is Still the compass for your life
“Lamp on my foot is your word, light on my path. "
(Salmo 119:105)
The Bible is not an overcome book. IS The voice of God for today. Shows you who God is, who you are, What does it mean to live in his will.
Studying the word is essential. Not to earn points with God, But to nourish your soul. Remember what Paolo says:
“Every writing is inspired by God and useful to teach, to convince, to correct, to educate to justice. "
(2 Timoteo 3:16)
In the reformed tradition, The centrality of writing It is the foundation. The principle Scripture alone invites you to filter every choice, thought and value through what God has revealed.
5. The disciple is a journey personnel, but not lonely
"Urge each day every day."
(Jews 3:13)
Being disciples of Jesus is not a solo race. You need the community of believers, of the local church, of the faithful preaching of the word and the comparison with more mature brothers.
The Christian faith is lived together, as a body (1 Corinthians 12). And even when you feel in the minority at school, Online or in the family, remember:
“I am with you every day, until the end of the present age. "
(Matteo 28:20)
6. The Holy Spirit is with you, in te, for you
"You will receive power when the Holy Spirit will come on you."
(proceedings 1:8)
You are not left alone in the fight. If you were born again, The Holy Spirit lives in you. He illuminates you, ti console, corrects you and strengthens you. You don't have to count on your strength, But on those that God gives you.
This is a truth that reformed theology stresses forcefully: it is God who begins, supports and completes your faith (Philippians 1:6).
Conclusion: Why follow Jesus today?
Because is the only one who loves you perfectly, who gave life for you, who guides you truth, and that prepares an eternity with him.
“Who we go? You have words of eternal life. "
(Giovanni 6:68)
There is no other foundation, another purpose, Another hope outside of Christ. Following it is difficult, But it is the only way that leads to real life.
